Here’s some of the things we’ve made.

Wild Ambitions was founded by Matt Nida, a creative, producer and writer with twenty years experience delivering first-rate content. Here’s a selection of the many, many projects we’ve overseen and made.

  • Joe Lycett Vs David Beckham (Rumpus Media / Channel 4, 2022)

This infamous stunt - in which thousands of people watched comedian and artist Joe Lycett apparently throw £10,000 into a garden shredder in protest at David Beckham’s involvement in the 2022 Qatar World Cup - made international headlines and created one of the year’s most iconic images. The subsequent television programme was a ratings hit for Channel 4 and won the BAFTA for Best Feature in 2023 and Best Popular Factual Programme at the 2024 Broadcast Awards. Matt oversaw all areas of the stunt and the television programme.

“[A] performance with a point.” (New York Times, December 2022)

  • Joe Lycett vs Sewage (Rumpus Media / Channel 4, 2024)

We played the long game with this one, creating a fake podcast with Gary Lineker and a “disastrous” launch event involving a leaky portaloo in Liverpool to highlight the ongoing dumping of raw sewage into Britain’s waterways. As a result of the stunt and the subsequent, highly acclaimed documentary, all overseen by Matt, more than 40,000 people wrote to their water companies in protest.

“It is, truly, a new benchmark in ‘making a point while making ’em laugh’ documentaries, and should be studied and heralded as such.” The Guardian, February 2024)

  • John Robins & Elis James: An Evening of Made Up Games (Avalon Promotions / Bloomsbury Theatre, 2022-2023)

Matt turned this beloved strand from John Robins and Elis James’ UK top 10 podcast into its own standalone live show. Featuring celebrity guests, surreal crowdsourced games and plenty of audience interaction, the show enjoyed two sell-out runs at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre.

  • Electric Shorts (Pulse Films / Red Bull TV, 2016)

In this stunning branded content series, contemporary cinema auteurs curate selections of cutting-edge short films. Having led the pitch for the project, Matt delivered a powerhouse line-up of guest curators including directors Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Northman), Lynne Ramsay (You Were Never Really Here) and Asif Kapadia (Senna, Amy), actress Samantha Morton and composer Clint Mansell (Moon, Requiem for a Dream).

  • The Big Fat Quiz of the Year (Hot Sauce TV / Channel 4, 2010-2019)

Matt oversaw this much-loved festive staple from 2010 to 2019, during which time it secured a prestigious regular Boxing Day slot at the heart of Channel 4’s Christmas schedule. Matt also developed a range of spin-offs and specials, one of which successfully reintroduced Mr Blobby to a worldwide audience thanks to a viral clip that has been viewed millions of times.

  • The Pub Landlord vs Nigel Farage (Avalon / Dave, 2015)

This instantly-viral image, reacting to Nigel Farage’s defeat, was the culmination of a months-long activation in which comedian Al Murray, in the guise of his straight-talking Pub Landlord alter-ego, ran for Parliament in the 2015 General Election. The spoof campaign - and accompanying feature-length mockumentary for UK channel Dave - used comedy to unpack some of the simmering political tensions in the country.
